50,000 protested against Tony Abbott and the Liberal Party’s cruel and outdated policies at March in March Melbourne today. Tens and tens of thousands protested in other cities and towns across Australia. Feeling a sense of hope for the future of Australia that I haven’t felt since September 7, or earlier. Abbott might not recognise these protests, just as coal seam gas may continue to destroy the beautiful forests I grew up in even though 87.9% of people voted against it. Our government might be a flaming pile of uncompassionate shit, but there are thousands of good people and that makes me happy.
